Keeping up Appearances: the Roman Way        

Saturday 24 July – Sunday 1 August

 At Welwyn Roman Baths         

As part of the Council for British Archaeology’s Festival of   History: Roman Bathtime. Activities, for all the family to enjoy, which will explore Roman bathing and cosmetics. Expect to be surprised! Find out about making soap, how urine was used to  wash clothes and what a strigil was used for.

 At Welwyn Roman Baths        

11am-4pm.  Step back in time to experience how the British Romans lived.  Learn about cooking, food and wine, visit the doctor, look around the shops, speak to a Roman legionary, see the scribe at work and find out what daily life would have been like in the Roman period.  £4 per adult, £2 for children and families £10.

The museum is housed in an old Mill House dating back to the sixteenth century.We are located just off the A414 between Hatfield and Hertford, near Welwyn Garden City in the hamlet of Mill Green
