Lemsford MillThe original mill on this site was uilt around over 700 years ago. The present mill was built in 1863 according to its stone plaque above the river at the rear. To find out more click on link below.

Long Arm & Short ArmThe Long Arm and Short Arm was originally a cottage and blacksmith’s shop and dates from 1734. In 1929 with the license renewed the beer house was knocked down a larger building was built by the McMullens brewery which is still standing and still owned by McMullens serving fine ales and food. The Sun InnThe Sun Inn a free house which has a reputation for its food and guest ales. The first mention of an ale house is in 1717. Due to the OFT in the late 1970s decree that no brewery should have a monopoly they were obliged to release ‘The Sun’ to Ind Coope. A popular local for the village and surrounding area. River LeaThe river Lea runs through the heart of Lemsford village. The Lemsford Local history Group achieves show it was a working river as far back as 1277 with fishing rights and a working Mill.

Christmas PartyThe first Lemsford village Christmas Party was in December 2004, when a small group from our social committee met in the October of that year and had an idea of a Christmas party and tree lights in the Village.

Duck RaceThe annual duck race started by the Duckmaster General (AKA Philip) from the Mill bridge. The box of plastic ducks are set free on their journey under the road bridge to the finish line in Bridge House garden.

Easter Egg HuntThe Egg – travaganza is held in Edna’s beautiful garden at No 13 and the popularity over the years has grown and is looked forward to by residents of the Village and locals from the surrounding areas. Jazz on the IslandJazz on the Island’ is another event the village look forward to. Held in the idyllic garden at No 13. The relaxing evening is a combination of food wine and great Jazz. Old favourites like Bob Thomas and the Thomcats are joined by various talented musicians.
