Lemsford Events
This page promotes our village events. In our village are lucky to have, two pubs, a village hall and our church with annex. Our various groups and societies all use these venues for their events. If you would like to hire one of the venues to hold an event of your own in please click on the link for their contact details.

Our weekly events are Karaoke every Saturday night and pensioners lunch discounts every Tuesday at The Sun and quiz nights every Tuesday at the Long & Short.
Edna is famous for her fund raising events ‘The Easter egg hunt’ and ‘Jazz on the Island’. The money she raises is for the great cause ‘ Hertfordshire Action on Disability’ or HAD which Celebrates its 50th Year this year. A special event organised by Edna who is keen to attract local artists, sculptors, jewellers and craftspeople to take part and all money raised is going to a great cause, HAD

Message from Edna
‘All events are, of course, entirely for HAD (Hertfordshire Action on Disability) HAD needs all the help it can get because our grant is halved this year and disappears completely next year , heaven only knows how we will keep all our services operating. ‘

Our main Sunday Service is at 11 am
The form of service varies but the usual monthly pattern is as follows:
1st and 5th Sundays of the month
Morning Prayer - a traditional service from the Prayer Book.
2nd and 4th Sundays and Festivals
Parish Communion - a contemporary service from 'Common Worship'.
3rd Sunday of the month
Family Service - worship for all ages (Family Service also on Mothering Sunday, at Harvest Festival, and at Christmas).
The above pattern may vary from time to time - the monthly Parish News magazine has details.

There is always tea and coffee after the service in the church annexe.
Also every Sunday:
8.00 am Holy Communion (Prayer Book)
6.30 pm Evening Service, variable. First Sunday of the month: 'Teens Service' - a service for young people.
Children are always welcome in church and are a valued part of our church family. All ages join for the whole service in church once a month and on other occasions.
Sunday Club offers a learning time during the 11 am service on most Sundays in the term-time. Pre-school children may also be in the annexe during that time.
Teenagers and older children are specially involved in the worship on the first Sunday evening of each month.
The Choir practises every Wednesday evening from 7.15 - 8.30 pm.
